Can I get married on a BUNAC open-work authorisation visa (a temporary work permit?)?

I am moving to Canada from the UK on a non-student BUNAC open-work authorisation visa. I also have an on-going Skilled Worker PR case in process (the work permit was obtained to allow me to go there and begin working quicker). I have a permanent job offer which has been accepted, dependant on me securing my working visa (already done). My question is can I marry my canadian girlfriend during the 12-month visa validity? We are settling in canada permanently and the 12-month visa was the quickest way to get there. A realistic situation will be that the 12-month visa will expire but my PR will still be ongoing. Will getting married within that time enable me to stay and worh there? Many thanks in advance.
