Why do so many people seem to have very little sympathy for Jamie Bulger's mother?

I agree with the poster above me. This mom made what I would consider a mistake. She turned her back for a few seconds and he was gone. I read this story as I live in the US and dont ever recall hearing about it. I do hope however these 2 boys can be rehabilitated somehow because they were children also and if they cant be they should stay in prison. I do believe they are released now right? There is always going to be people out there that do not care about anything except getting the attention for opposing something. That would be their only motive is to be opposite so they can be different. If they continue to get attention then people will continue to behave in such a manner. I personally think this story should be put to rest so that James can be as well and his mother can try to find some sort of peace with this. Someone should help this woman start something in her sons name. Bullying is out of control I know here in the US and if this story could get out there maybe people would start paying more attention to what Bullys can do. I know at my kids school they say no tolerence for bullys but the repeat offenders are still bullying every day and getting nothing for it except a talking to.
