How long would it take to get to this place on horseback?

My character is going about 40 miles and I would like to know how long it would take to cover that on horseback. She would not be going at a breakneck pace. She would only be stopping at night. The terrain may be rough or rugged, since Scotland does have a lot of hills. The weather would be nice. Any help?
